The Day Job Tour

We are happy to announce that Peter Penguinton is out of rehab and ready to hit the road again, along with the rest of the Eliquate crew. It's been awhile since the last time we danced Northwest but we are coming back to you. We are happy to re-announce that we have a new bus, and had the new brake caliper not gotten stolen out of Cosmo’s trunk- we would be happy to say she is road ready and eager to show us across this glorious coastline of ours. Last time we made the rookie mistake of taking a bus we had never taken on any distance voyage before, to the farthest destination in the tour, and working our way down. This proved to be disastrous on the bus so this time we decided to take a bus we have never taken on a distance voyage before to the farthest destination on the tour and work our way down. We couldn’t be more excited about it, we have literally been talking about it all day. Though the rout is familiar, we still have no idea what to expect except that anything can happen. Keep up with all the shenanigans on our website, Facebook and Instagram as Eliquate embarks on...

Good Times in Mendocino County

This weekend Eliquate fell in love.

That's right, to a small town (that we will not name because, like The Shire, we want to keep it protected from the woes of the outside world) in Mendocino County. Eliquate would like to say, “We Love You.”

Not only was our first venue a swanky old theatre that reminded us all of better times, but our sound was being run by none other than world class producer Selector Science. For a town with a population of 437 they sure know how to gather and have a great time.

Quite possibly the friendliest hosts we have ever been gifted with, Dysphunctional Species took us into their home and gave us the royal treatment. We spent the next morning jamming with our good friends boostive as Al Bundi and Elliot freestyled to the improvisations of their bandmates.

The latter part of our afternoon was spent at the town’s Harbor Festival, where we got to play into a gorgeous Pacific Northwest sunset. The town was so appreciative of our music we all gathered together for a group hug at the end of the set.

Saying our goodbyes and jumping off the pier we realized we had truly found something special. Thank you Mendocino County.

Streetlight San Jose Show

SanJose.com said some nice things about us...

Not to generalize about Santa Cruz MCs or anything, but did you ever notice that Santa Cruz MCs have a lot to say? Dense verbiage is the rule of the land, and Eliquate is no exception. He's both wordy and worldly, stepping to the mic with a laid-back flow that rolls like a wave but doesn't break for anything. In his song "The Nineties," he claims he would have "made it" in that decade, and he's probably right. His sound is live alt-rock meets alt-hop, with the emphasis on riffs and drums instead of beatmaking. With the '90s' imminent comeback, he shouldn't have long to wait before a bunch of white guys goofing in their basement with catchy raps, guitars, a monkey and the occasional zombie is cool again. - Steve Palopoli sanjose.com
